This week I am in Berlin for IFA, which is one of the world’s oldest trade fairs. Started in 1924 it was here that we saw one of the world’s first televisions and it was here that the first audiocassette was displayed.

This year the focus has been on wearable technology, smart watches and phones with fantastic screen quality and enhanced camera capabilities.

Lenovo launched the Yoga Tab 3 Pro tablet, which features a 10 inch 2K screen; a built in projector that can display a 70-inch screen and it has an 18-hour battery life.

Motorola launched their new Moto 360 watches, which come in two sizes, and three models, which includes a sports model. They run Android Wear operating system, have built in heart rate monitors and are fully customizable with a wide range of accessories.

Lenovo probably isn't the first brand you think of when you're looking for a gaming PC, between its reputation for business PCs and its frequently frugal designs. However, it's definitely trying to improve its gamer cred today. The system builder has trotted out three Y-series computers that match the requisite speed boosts with more flair than you're used to from Lenovo.

According to new research the way we use our phones has changed dramatically in the last few years. As our phones gets smarter and with functionality changing, the traditional methods phones were designed for initially are not being used as frequently. Today we are spending just 7% of our time on a phone making calls. 18% is spent watching videos, 13% on social media, 12% playing games, 10% keeping up with news, 7% reading books, 7% watching sport, 3% using the camera.
