Segametsi Molawa, Library and Information Association of South Africa, refuted the claim that libraries are a boring place.
“More and more people are going to libraries. All sorts of people go to libraries; people who are looking for jobs are also in the library.”
South Africa’s longest running and most successful national reading campaign, National Book Week, started on Monday and will end on 13 September 2015.
This year the focus is on #BuyABook, which is about getting those who can afford to buy and share books.
“If you don’t read you won’t be able to write,” Molawa said.
