Telemarketing is a method of direct marketing, usually over the phone, in which a salesperson solicits prospective customers to buy products or services.

Telemarketing can also include recorded sales pitches programmed to be played over the phone via automatic dialing.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Branding and Advertising Expert Andy Rice about whether or not telemarketing (still) works.
