Leather that doesn't age

Lisa Ackroyd is the creator and designer of Colony, a label that creates quality leather bags.

Ackroyd’s label is rooted in her desire to create an inspired leather and canvas collection that marries traditional leather materials and craftsmanship.

I’ve always had a big love for leather, after studying I started making leather for friends and family then pretty soon I had a business.

Lisa Ackroyd creator and designer of Colony

Colony is a leather label established in 2012 by Ackroyd. The brand caters to both men and women.

She said she follows a design philosophy that embodies quality, functionality and attention to detail.

“The leather is oily so it doesn’t get old. It took a while to get good leather suppliers in South Africa, most of it is imported then tanned in South Africa.”
