CapeTalk’s Pippa Hudson tackled the dynamics of business coaching with Co-Directors of the Centre for Coaching at the University of Cape Town, Craig O’Flaherty and Janine Everson.
According to Everson, business coaching involves the way business owners think, feel and conduct themselves which could lead to them experiencing some problems within their businesses.
The role of a business coach is to coach business owners through guidance, support, accountability and encouragement.
O’Flaherty says often people go to business coaches when they hit a curve in their businesses or looking for a way to better their businesses.
He says that business coaching is not only for business owners but for anyone who wants support and guidance to run a successful business.
A business coach will help a business owner to focus on the game just like a sports coach would push an athlete to achieve best performance, he says.
