Springboks face Japan in Rugby World Cup opening match

The Springbok team will face Japan in their World Cup opener, it was announced on Wednesday.

Jean de Villiers will lead the team, while JP Pietersen will start the match on the bench.

CapeTalk’s John Matham spoke to sports writer and broadcaster, Andy Capostagno, about the Springbok team.

I think it was a bit of an open secret that even though we were told that everybody will be fit for the opening game, there was no way they were going to chance Duane Vermeulen.

Capostagno thinks the team will do pretty well against Japan especially with Schalk Burger being part of the team.

Heyneke Meyer's team for Saturday's opening Rugby World Cup Pool B match against Japan:
