Cape Town instagrammer takes followers on a ride with her candid photographs

Lesley Lilley travels on the Cape Town train lines and takes candid photographs of commuters in a series dubbed "The Everyday Commute".

Her Instagram account documents the faces she encounters on various train routes across the city and has garnered a significant following.

After a year of using Instagram, she started posting pictures of passengers on the train in June 2013. Lilley says the positive response motivated her to take more photographs on her public transport trips.

Everybody has loved it and I've been doing it for about two years. It has been amazing and the reactions have been great. The beauty of it is that the people don't know.

Lilley has taken nearly 300 pictures of Capetonian commuters to date and none of them have ever been aware of what she is doing.
