Lead SA Heroes, Today's Big Stories

This Lead SA Hero packs a punch

Our Lead SA Hero for September is a story of reform and second chances.

DRC-born Paul Kamanga managed to turn his life around - from street-fighter to professional boxer. He now mentors young boxers and conducts workshops in different communities. He is now involved with boxing organisation Fight With Insight. He has had 17 professional fights, unbeaten with 9 knockouts.

Kamanga spoke to 702's John Robbie this morning about how he went from zero to hero.

I eventually overcame street fighting and had no interest. Coming from this past, I decided to help others in the same spot I was in and overcome street fighting.
