The City of Cape Town has accused the ANC leadership in the Western Cape of being hypocritical.
This followed the provincial members of Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) leading a protest against the implementation of the Winelands Tolling Project on Wednesday.
Mayoral Committee (MayCo) member for Transport, Brett Herron, said the leadership of Cosatu's Tony Ehrenreich displayed a clear conflict of interest and insincerity.
Herron said Ehrenreich led the ANC to vote against the City’s plans to prevent the tolling project in 2011, arguing that ANC leadership conveniently "jumps on the band wagon" regarding many issues.
