'Home battery systems and energy storage will alleviate SA's grid pressure'

Errol Musk, proud father of the energy entrepreneur Elon Musk, says South Africa can improve the way that electricity is supplied to households.

He says that investing in home battery systems and energy storage may help relieve the pressure on the electricity grid.

According to Musk, technology has allowed for efficient and economically viable battery units which can be charged during off-peak periods and used to supply electricity during peak times.

Computer technology can think faster than we can. It is the way to go. Every single househould should have a power wall fitted as if it were a geyser - to create more capacity.
