ANC NGC: Spotlight on membership and leadership issues

Stephen Grootes is broadcasting parts of the Midday Report live from the ANC NGC in Midrand this afternoon, where ANC policy is being reviewed.

Jacob Zuma is currently giving his political address at ANC's national general council.

Govan Whittles (also in attendance) said that the morning has seen ANC leaders talking about the purpose of the gathering, being to focus on policy. Several people spoke about discipline.

Amid the policy discussions, there is still going to be a focus on leadership issues with its 2017 conference coming up in just over 2 years, where there is an expectation that there will be a new leader being elected to take over from Zuma.
