The SABC has confirmed it will go to the Constitutional Court to stop its COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng from being suspended.
702's Xolani Gwala this afternoon spoke to Motsoeneng's legal representative Zola Majavu about this development.
Listen to the conversation below:
The public broadcaster has instructed lawyers to lodge an urgent appeal with the Constitutional Court.
Yesterday, the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein upheld the Western Cape High Court's ruling which compels the SABC board to suspend Motsoeneng pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing.
The order is in line with Public Protector Thuli Madonsela's instructions to the SABC board after she investigated governance failures at the public broadcaster last year.
