Reasons behind Tshwane's water supply issues

While Gauteng undergoes scorching temperatures, the City of Tshwane has announced that it's implementing water shedding due to a huge demand for water from its customers.

Waterkloof Park, Erasmuskloof and Constantia Park were affected by water cuts at the weekend due to increased demand.

Stephen Grootes spoke to City of Tshwane spokesperson Selby Bokaba about the cause of these water shortages, including that reservoirs have been operating at low levels due to a high demand from customers.

The low pressure from Rand Water's pipeline supply has apparently compounded the problems Tshwane is currently facing with water supply.
