The Department of Communications says the issue of possibly reversing governments’ decision to implement un-encrypted digital terrestrial television (DTT) was never discussed at the ANC’s national general council over the weekend.
DTT is set to replace the analogue signal used to transmit free-to-air channels such as the SABC offerings, e.tv and an array of community stations.
Cape Talk/ 702's Stephen Grootes spoke to the ministry of communication's Mish Molakeng, who refuted media reports that there would be a reversal of un-encrypted DTT.
