It helps to shop around if you want to ensure that you keep your vehicle for well beyond its warranty and service plan shelf life.

The 2015 Kinsey Report suggests that it is essential to check the pricing of a vehicle's parts before purchasing it, to avoid repair and serving issues down the line.

Motoring journalist, and author of the report, Malcolm Kinsey said the depreciating value of the vehicle can create an even bigger financial loss to motorists than buying new parts.

I would always advocate for keeping a vehicle - but, the right one.

The report report covers 74 vehicles within nine categories and shows a list of prices of 35 parts and the cost of each "parts basket" as a percentage of the vehicle's price.
