A brand new maternity hospital due to open in Cape Town

The first family centred maternity hospital in South Africa is due to open in Panorama on the 1st of December.

Suzette Bester-Cloete is the CEO of the brand new Origin Family-Centred Maternity Hospital.

The family centre promises a different environment from the normal maternity wards. Bester-Cloete says the centre will offer the most conducive environment for physiological birth – a home like environment. She says it is luxurious, warm, safe and private.

The centre has emergency services on site in case something goes wrong during birth, she says.

Origin boasts 6 luxurious birthing suites, each with a water birth pool, en-suite bathrooms and queen-size beds for father/family to stay over, plus three standard, well-equipped birth rooms, and three separate postnatal double rooms, all with en suite bathrooms.
