The #FeesMustFall protests have spread around the country and to many other parts of the world as students protest proposed tuition fee increases of 10% and higher for 2016.

Government initially agreed to cap the increases to 6% with the President announcing today that there will be no increase in 2016.

Over 450 000 tweets using #FeesMustFall were posted in the last 24 hours. Following the announcement, #FeesHaveFallen shot to the top of the Twitter trends with 30 000 mentions by early evening.
