Coverage of Senzo Meyiwa’s murder has been widespread and global, and the police have been swift in their condemnation of the crime, announcing a generous reward for any information leading to the capture of the killers.
Meyiwa was killed on Sunday evening at the Vosloorus home of his girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo. According to police, he was shot in the back by burglars and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega announced a R250 000 reward, and a multi-disciplinary team, which includes top national and provincial detectives and investigators, headed by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Detective Services.
