Art materials manufacturer KV Art is what business growth specialist Pavlo Phitidis describes as a "market maker".

Founder of KV Art Kevin O'Sullivan says their company offers products, through the popular range called Dala, that allow artists and crafters to successfully create art.

The business has strongly disrupted the manufacturing and importing of art supplies from markets such as China.

Listen to the full conversation from CapeTalk's Breakfast with Kieno Kammies:

O'Sullivan says the company has grown at high double digits for all 21 years since their inception

It grew by 23% in 2014.

Localisation is the key theme here. KV Art have created an enormous catalog of locally made art materials over the last 20 years. They sell to schools, retailers and wholesalers.

Pavlo Phitidis, business growth specialist

In order for KV Art to reach the next level, Phitidis says the company must expand their marketing strategy to align their product with other iconic brands in order to create a narrative and craft experience.

The Nedbank Business Accelerator with CapeTalk, celebrates entrepreneurs who build the businesses that South Africa needs.
