Today at the Constitutional Court, judges are hearing legal argument between the DA and the lawyers of the Speaker of the National Assembly about whether the speaker can use police officers to remove MPs.
This follows the use of police officers by Baleka Mbete to remove Economic Freedom Fighter MP’s from Parliament during president Jacob Zuma’s State of the Nation Address, in February this year.
