Teams from the Kouga Municipality in the Eastern Cape have not yet located the site where a suspected meteorite allegedly crashed.
Several sightings were reported in the Patensie area that a suspected meteorite apparently landed on Sunday.
Professor David Block, Director at Wits University's Dust Laboratory said details of the incident should be investigated further to determine what the alleged sighting may have been.
