A very public fallout with the owners of e.tv has raised questions about the editorial independence of its newsroom following the resignation by the CEO and COO of e.tv for not wanting to bow to pressure to run certain stories.

The story becomes more complex when commentators point out that e.tv had made an agreement with to run a series of news pieces to show the work of the Department of Economic Development in a positive enough light for those pieces to be posted to the department's own webpage.
