A challenge to the keyboard and mouse

Computer keyboards predate computers when they were typewriters 100 years ago and even the mouse was invented before the modern PC. HP Computers has a new computer called Sprout that does away with both.

Looking like a tablet combined with a screen, it is not an entirely new concept. It is novel, though for using a camera and a projector to connect the touch table with the touch screen.

It looks to be a good tool for design and edit functions and it certainly needs a big desktop space and a carefully lit room.

It comes packed with impressive components, but at around R19 000 it is not a cheap gimmick either.

Time will tell if we ditch the keyboard and mouse or if Sprout fails to well, sprout.

HP Sprout: Windows 8.1 64, Intel® Core™ i7-4790S with Intel HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 745A
