What do you do when someone does something wonderful that you think the world (or local community) should know about?
Angela Downing Meyer of Parklands faced this situation recently when she found out that her 14-year-old daughter had run out of money on her MyCiti Connect card, for her journey to Milnerton High.
A security guard at the Wood Drive station, Monica Mendela, took pity on the teen and offered her R20, even though she only had R50 for herself to see out the rest of the week.
When Angela found out about this, she made sure that Monica was rewarded for her kind heart, and spread the news through her local neighbourhood Facebook page , Table View Neighbours (note: restricted to members only).
As a result, many have been coming forward and making donations to Monica, to prove that kindness does indeed pay off.
Kieno Kammies got Angela to share her story on radio, but also had a surprise guest listening in as well.
