Hlaudi Motsoeneng speaks out about his new role at SABC

Former South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) COO, now general executive for corporate affairs Hlaudi Mtsoeneng, says he will now be responsible for stakeholders and ensuring the production of content in different provinces.

Responding to the Public Protector's comments that Motsoeneng should not have been given another position while there are pending investigations against him, he said he does not understand why the Public Protector is tarnishing his name.

I respect the office of the Public Protector but if the Public Protector use media, maybe that is what she enjoys most. I am not going to comment about that.

Asked what happened to the person who had the general executive for corporate affairs position, Motsoeneng said he is an employee at the SABC and cannot talk on their behalf.

He also refused to answer whether he was interviewed for his new position, saying the questions must be directed to the SABC.

If you are employed, the employer must respond to that question.
