As part of its congestion management programme, the City of Cape Town's council is proposing flexi time and staggered shifts for it's employees to reduce traffic congestion into the city.
Brett Herron, Mayco member for transport, says the City is prepared to take the lead as a catalyst for other companies and employers to do the same.
He says the strategy is out for public comment and they will be engaging with employers and businesses within the city to comment.
Herron also encouraged companies to build offices in residential parts of the city to reduce the number of people traveling to the city centre for employment.
