Spirits of Hani, Sobukwe guided us - Nompendulo Mkhatshwa

Wits SRC president Nompendulo Mkhatshwa was one of the many student leaders at the forefront of the #FeesMustFall protests which dominated headlines this year.

Mkhatshwa on Tuesday spoke to CapeTalk/702 presenter Redi Tlhabi about the efforts, emotions and evolution of the national student movement towards free university education and responded to listeners' calls.

She discussed student accountability, and the dynamics of her role as SRC president, female leader and political affiliate.

There was no master plan. Every decision that we made was guided by the spirits of Hani, Sobukwe, Ngoyi, Maxeke. We just moved.
