How to forgive yourself from past mistakes and move on

Not forgiving yourself when you have made mistakes demolishes confidence and self-worth, according to Dr Helgo Schomer.

Forgiveness frees us from bitterness and anger, two emotions that not only don’t feel good but can also ruin our physical health, he says.

He further says that the real purpose of shame, remorse and guilt is to learn from it, not punishment.
