Happy 20th birthday McDonald’s South Africa!

McDonald’s entered the South African market in November 1995 when it opened its first restaurant.

Today there are more than 200 McDonald’s restaurants across the country.

McDonald’s claims to have trained and employed over 10 000 South Africans.

The company says that more than 80% of all food served in its restaurants is produced by South African suppliers.

McDonald’s South Africa serves 8 million customers per month.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Greg Solomon, CEO of McDonald’s in SA, for his weekly “The Science Of” feature.
