25 November 2015 4:55 PM

Multi-billion-rand plan to develop prime land between Black & Liesbeeck rivers will provide opportunities to lower income families

The City of Cape Town signed a memorandum of co-operation with the Western Cape and Dutch governments on the Two Rivers Urban Park (TRUP) project.

This a multi-billion-rand plan to develop prime land between the Black and Liesbeeck rivers to provide opportunities for lower-income families.

Belinda walker, Mayco member for community services - City of Cape Town says they are currently doing feasibility studies on the project, assisted by Dutch government, offering expertise in the management of river systems and flood plans.

They are going to help us turn the area into a state of environmental health and do some development around it to have people live there
