"You know that expression “Be careful what you wish for?”well, happily most of our wishes have been granted for this Best of Bandstand Volume 2 compilation! We are more than well represented with songs from Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr., Matt Monro and Billie Holiday. You’ll notice 23 year old John Stevens as a newcomer to the Saturday Bandstand and it’s really encouraging that more and more of the younger crop of singers are reviving the standards from yesteryear with fresh arrangements.

The Big Bands as always are here too, from the innovative arrangements of Artie Shaw and Gene Krupa to the smoother sounds of Stanley Black, Lionel Hampton and Eddie Calvert. With the exception of Bobby Darin, who will always be afforded a place in any compilation of mine, there are no repetitions from our Volume 1 which makes this the perfect complement as well as helping build a nicely varied collection."
