Due to public demand, the inimitable duo, Ian von Memerty and Rory Rootenberg, with Jeremy Quickfall at the piano, will return to the Baxter Theatre in November for a limited season, in which they will present highlights from some of their favorite musicals. Rory reprises some of the great moments of his performance as the Phantom in Phantom of The Opera, and performs highlights from the successful and much awarded Cadenza series, which Ian scripted and directed for him. These excerpts include his complete performance of Carmen the Opera in ten minutes, his hysterical Lloyd Webber audition sequence, as well as some poignant and moving Hebrew music.Rory has recently toured locally with his popular show Behind the Mask, a show that he also presented on board the Rhapsody cruiseliner when it travelled from South Africa to Italy earlier this year. Ian who currently presents Strictly Come Dancing on SABC televison, capers through numbers from the evergreen A Handful of Keys, sizzles through sequences from Big Band Blast, and, from his recent stage triumph Captain Entertainment, he presents the whirlwind History of South Africa. Together, these colleagues and friends provide an evening filled with heart, great harmony, mutual enjoyment and some of the finest moments from their acclaimed careers.

There seems to be no end to the appeal of Tannie Evita's blonde sussie! Because of public demand for the Sunday shows at the Intimate Theatre, Bambi in Kabaret has been extended till mid-December. The Kabaret is about her extraordinary story of survival told in song, her background echoed in familiar tunes, her inspirations gently mocked through canny impersonation. With Pieter-Dirk Uys as Bambi and with music arranged and played by Godfrey Johnson, the cabaret is performed in three languages. Bambi's story is told in English, while the songs also include some in German and some in Afrikaans. This cabaret is not for the faint-hearted.

It’s time again for the highly acclaimed Tygerberg Children’s Choir’s very popular annual Christmas concerts.This world class choir celebrates its 37th year, and achieved 2nd place in the Children’s Choir division at the World Choir Games in Graz, Austria during July.
