In anticipation of the release of Angus Buchan’s Ordinary People on April 5, 2012, Ster Kinekor Entertainment has opened ticket bookings up to the public for a “sneak-previews” of the film. Capetonians can catch all the action at N1 City on Wednesday 14 March at 8pm. The film by FC Hamman includes a stellar cast and breathtaking cinematography. Local talent featured in the film includes Anrich Herbst, Anton Dekker, Kate Normington, Jaco Muller and Lucky Koza, to name just a few. Based on true events, this film is not a biography on Angus Buchan but rather follows three parallel plot lines of ordinary South African men in the build up to their attendance of the Mighty Men Conference 2010.

CPOA as a non-profit Organisation for the aged based in Cape Town, has recognised that the plight of indigent older persons living in South Africa is very real and has faithfully accepted the challenge to care for older persons for the past 57 years through community based services and homes for the frail older person.  At present CPOA houses approx. 500 indigent older persons and renders services to another 2000 community based older persons by means of our senior centres and home help projects. The need to recognise that all older persons have contributed to the development of South Africa, albeit some in small ways, should be a challenge to both the corporate world and communities to offer their support in whichever way possible.  It is also a well-known phenomenon that populations are living longer and are increasingly more dependent on care. Our appeal to you is to support us in making this a memorable day. DANCING IN THE STREET Party all over the world Dancing in the Street is the one and only Barnyard Show that will give you the opportunity to party all over the world at various famous carnivals, celebrations and festivals. We will criss-cross the globe and visit exotic destinations like the Rio Carnival, the Mardi Gras Carnival in New Orleans, The Cape Minstrel Carnival in Cape Town, St Patrick’s Day in Ireland, The Halloween Festival, The Soccer World Cup 2010 in South Africa and a New Year’s Eve celebration at Times Square - New York. The celebration starts with the sound of New Orleans and the Mardi Gras Festival with tributes to Louis Armstrong and Elvis Presley and quickly moves to Brazil with the sounds of Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin and Carlos Santana. This show has no boundaries and also includes the glorious sounds of Ireland’s celebration of St Patrick’s Day with songs like Danny Boy, The Wild Rover and The Leaving of Liverpool. Then it’s time to touch down on our own home soil with our own South African celebrations that are not only historical but also have groove and soul! We celebrate The Cape Town Minstrel Carnival that has been brewed for more than three centuries in District Six and is sure to get the party going. The music never stops and is one endless party as we head for the Soccer World Cup 2010 with the anthem Wavin’ Flag bringing the show to a frenzy! Just when you thought it could not get better we head for new year’s eve at Times Square New York where the audience will link arms and sway to Auld Lang Syn.
