This series of paintings expose indigenous South African plant forms and the strength and potency that they hold. In isolating her imagery from its surrounding landscape, Claudia’s work reveals a dynamic moment in a plant’s life. Be sure not to miss conceptual wildlife artist John Moore's current show at the SA Print Gallery. These particular works have never been exhibited in Cape Town before. On show are a selection of John Moore's woodcuts, etchings and lithographs. John's exceptionally detailed and realistic works are depictions of wildlife and the poignant plight of endangered species. This is at a time when there is urgent need to change our attitude to the environment and nature, which John feels passionate about. His style contains elements of surrealism and traditional naturalism which merge into thoughtful reflections of our age. John believes his work assists the viewer to find their own interpretation and allows the work to speak to them personally. The imagery often includes references to the Khoi-San - which he believes are the ‘first people' of the Southern African continent.
