Tips to use less water...

Reduce the amount of water in your cistern - add a brick or bottle filled with water.

Remember to turn off the tap when brushing your teeth.

Use military showers - a method of showering that allows for significant conservation of water and energy by turning off the flow of water in the middle part of your shower while soaping up.

Install a pool cover.

Collect and settle backwash water.

Use washing machine and dishwasher only when fully loaded and check dishwasher and washing machine for eco mode

Shower instead of bathing...find out why it's a great idea!

Install a flow-reducing shower-head

Install a wellpoint or borehole (all wellpoints and boreholes must be registered)

Insulate water pipes and check for leaks

Install aerators on your taps

Mulch plants - retains moisture and protects them from the heat

Tips to re-use water...

Collect water from the shower as it warms up, and save in a bucket.

Collect grey water from showers, baths and washing machines, and use grey water to fill toilet cisterns. Collect rinse water from the washing machine and use for the first wash in next load.

Use grey water to water plants

Add a small container to your sink to collect rinse water from fruit and vegetable and install water harvesting on drainpipes to collect rain water.
