ConsumerTalk: DStv says it has heard your complaints about too many show repeats

This week, consumer journalist Wendy Knowler answers listeners' questions about DSTV repeats - and the reason why subscribers haven't received their monthly magazine.

According to Knowler, DStv subscribers have been feeling the pinch financially, which has resulted in some downgrading their packages from Premium to Compact - and some cancelling the subscription altogether.

Multichoice CEO Mark Rayner helped answer some of this questions.

He agrees that DStv has been seeing some of their customers moving from the Premium package.

Rayner says they have created a package that is in between Premium and Compact called Compact Plus.

This is just a package to remind people that if you feeling Premium is a bit of a stretch you can roll down to Compact Plus and hope it does the work for you and your family.

Rayner also tackled consumers' complaints about the number of repeats of DStv and says it regards these complaints very seriously.

He says they have made changes to reduce the number of repeats on DStv.

We looked at our channels very carefully and some of the channels that were repeating older content have been dropped from DStv.

Taking the feedback into account we collapsed some of the M-Net channels but we're still buying the same amount of movies. Other channels were merged such as M-Net Edge into the main M-Net channel.
