Hawks suspend anti-corruption task team head

The acting head of government communications Pumla Williams has been testifying at the #StateCaptureInquiry in Parktown.

So far Williams has told of how budgets and advertising was diverted including for the The New Age business breakfast.

This was part of the whole state capture investigation.

The commission has been hearing evidence of abuse of power by senior government officials and former president Jacob Zuma's involvement with the Guptas. Also, the anti-corruption task team head Zinhle Mnonopi was suspended last Thursday.

She was implicated by the former deputy minister of finance Mcebisi Jonas in evidence before the Zondo commission investigating state capture last week.

The Hawks very quickly moving to make sure that she was suspended.

Speaking to Ray White on The Midday Report, Hawks spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi says they don't know of any other people who would be in the same situation as Mnonopi.

What we are doing, we are cooperating with the commission and if there is any other person who might be implicated then of cause we will take similar action.
