Random Acts of Kindness with Dis-Chem

Dischem Foundation's R60 000 donation gives children's hospital hope

The Dischem Foundation has donated R60 000 worth of goods to The Sarah Fox Children’s Convalescent Hospital so they can continue performing their critical role in children's lives.

The Sarah Fox Children’s Convalescent Hospital takes in children that are not sick enough to stay in the tertiary hospital but not well enough to go home. This is according to Samantha Oliver, fundraising coordinator for the Sarah Fox Children's Convalescent Hospital.

They take in children with social issues, malnutrition, HIV and TB. These children are monitored, make sure they take their medication, go to their doctor's appointments and be nursed back to health.

The hospital has been struggling to make ends meet especially with the disposable nappies, and everyday need for these children, explains Oliver.
