Gigaba, Dlamini and Mokonyane heading to Parliament despite outcry

Political analyst Nompumelelo Runji says these people have support from their constituencies.

All eyes on President Cyril Ramaphosa to downsize his Cabinet.

But the list of those going to Parliament is also raising eyebrows.

Members of the African National Congress allegedly implicated in wrongdoing such as Malusi Gigaba, Bathabile Dlamini and Nomvula Mokonyane are heading to Parliament.

Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng received the candidate lists for Members of Parliament from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) at the Constitutional Court on Wednesday.

The balancing act continues of trying to keep the various factions in the party happy by including people certain that the public may not have confidence in.

Political analyst Nompumelelo Runji says the people on the list were actually chosen by the branches of the ANC.

Those people actually have support from their constituency, and it would be challenging to sideline them.
