13 December 2016 2:21 PM
EWN's Gaye Davis summarises the evidence of the SABC journalists who appeared before the ad hoc committee in Parliament.

Top SABC journalists have spoken out about the editorial decisions and policy changes under Hlaudi Motsoeneng's watch.

The 'SABC 8' appeared before the ad hoc committee yesterday in Parliament, an inquiry into the SABC board's fitness to do its work.

Among them was economics editor Thandeka Gqubule and SAfm current affairs producer Krivani Pillay.

Prominent journalist and EWN's Gaye Davis have commended the SABC staffers for their courage to make their bold testimonies.

The journalists who came and spoke to the MPs on this committee were incredibly brave.

Gaye Davis, Parliamentary correspondent for EWN

Davis explains that only four of the 'SABC 8' journalist agreed to appear before the committee, yet they represent hundreds of SABC employees.

They represent hundreds of SABC employees, who feel as strongly as they do about what they've called bearing painful witness to the demise of public service journalism

Gaye Davis, Parliamentary correspondent for EWN

Suspended veteran journalist Vuyo Mvoko said that SABC funds have been used to build rival, Gupta-owned TV channel ANN7.
