Pterygium is a pinkish, triangular tissue growth that typically starts on the cornea (the white part) near the nose. It may slowly grow but rarely grows so large that it affects once vision.  Often can involve both eyes resulting in irritation of the eyes, redness and itchy The condition becomes more common with age. It is a not cancer and it’s not malignant Though the cause is unclear. It appears to be partly related to long term exposure to UV light and dust.
