Are state companies killing local manufacturers?


A few weeks ago in the Sunday Times, Chris Barron wrote an article looking at how State-owned enterprises have apparently been flouting the government’s procurement programme, with damaging consequences for local manufacturers, job creation and economic growth. Our guest this morning, Philippa Rodseth, from the Manufacturing Circle, says that private-sector participation in state-owned enterprises would be a major boost for local manufacturers.
