Looming water shortages

21 October 2019 10:03 PM

Many cities and towns in the country do not have enough water to satisfy demand and
taps are expected to run dry unless drastic action is taken.
This is according to Rapport, citing a new research report about water security which
was tabled in parliament by the Minister of Human Settlements, Water & Sanitation,
Lindiwe Sisulu.
The report shows that the demand in many areas exceed supply and that water, which
should be saved for later, is now used.
Does mean that South Africa is running out of water and faces a situation similar to the
electricity crisis?
To answer this question were joined online by Sputnik Ratau, the spokesperson for the
water and sanitation department...........

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

21 October 2019 9:02 PM

Breast cancer. It's a disease so many of us have been affected by. The mere mention of
it sends shivers down our spines and instils a sense of dread, and fear, in us. But it
doesn't have to.
Because breast cancer is not a death sentence. 95% of women survive breast cancer
when detected early. But not everyone knows that. Breast cancer is shrouded in
misconceptions and myths which ultimately have resulted in stigma around the disease
and this stigmatisation has stopped women form getting the medical help they need….
Joining us to discuss this important topic is Dr. Karin Baatjes, a consultant surgeon, and
the head of the division of Anatomy at Stellenbosch University........

'How do you differentiate yourself from the rest'

16 October 2019 11:21 PM

50 years back, to differentiate yourself was easy. All you needed was a degree and you would’ve gotten far in life. The reality today is very different— a degree doesn’t guarantee job security no more. What then do we need to stand out from our peers? How do we differentiate ourselves?
In principle, we should simply focus on acquiring the right skill sets for the desired job. Because that’s all employers look for right? Wrong! As it turns out, it’s been noticed that many employers look for someone who is passionate about a cause, someone who possesses a dazzling personality, and someone who pursues his/her hobbies outside school.
You probably have heard of many ways to upgrade yourself from rest and this evening Margaret Hirsch joined to discuss this……

Guest: Margaret Hirsch - Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer at Hirsch’s
