Members of the Hindu faith community gathered in Rylands in Cape Town to commemorate the life of Anni Dewani yesterday. Yesterday was a year since the death of the honeymoon bride who was found with a gunshot wound to the neck in Khayelitsha.

Her widower, Shrien Dewani, is currently embroiled in an extradition appeal battle and the British courts granted a request from the South African government that Dewani be extradited back to South Africa to stand trial for the murder of his wife.

It is alleged that Dewani was the mastermind behind the murder. Similar vigils were held in Sweden and in Britain.

DESIGNATED DRIVER SERVICES – YOU DRINK, THEY DRIVE

There are a number of home chauffeur driving services now available where you can drive yourself to a function, and for the return trip, if you had a few too many drinks, you can call these companies who will meet you at the venue, and drive you home in your own car.

They do this by coming out in pairs, either in a car or on a motorbike. Once you’ve been dropped off, they then depart together.

The services vary from being on a casual basis to more formalised package deals where you can subscribe and receive a number of kilometres or trips for use in a month.
