Mixed responses to FutureLife's fake UFO marketing hoax

UFO crash sites and strange green lights in the sky. Some have been saddened to learn that the extraterrestrial activity was staged.

Clover and FutureLife have confirmed that they are behind the recent series of "UFO sightings" in Cape Town, Durban, Soweto and Sandton.

The hoax, which was a marketing stunt to launch their new smart milk drink, has been met with mixed reaction on social media.

CapeTalk host John Maytham and advertising expert Jonathan Cherry have disagreed on the effectiveness of the extraterrestrial campaign and whether or not brand value has been added to the dairy product.

Meanwhile, astronomer Claire Flanagan debunked the dominant presumptions about alien spacecrafts and other extraterrestrial activity.

The alien spaceship thing is fed back by Hollywood, we look for things that we want to see. Science fiction questions what would be happening in 50 or 100 years from now if we were to visit another civilisation.
