Gentrification in Cape Town - the pros and cons

9 December 2014 11:55 AM

The issue of gentrification can be a contentious one, with some quarters arguing that it is unfair on groups who have traditionally called the area "home" for generations.

There is the argument that it drives poor people out or that they don't get to benefit from the turnaround strategies that are brought to the neighbourhood.
