Service delivery app to be rolled out throughout WC in the next year
The Department of Local Government in the Western Cape says if the pilot rollout of it’s new citizen engagement application proves to be effective, the rest of the province can look forward to using the technology.
The Municipal Citizen Engagement Application has already been piloted in five municipalities including Oudtshoorn.
It provides direct communication with councillors and serves as a mobile platform for residents to report faults, as well as interact with their respective municipality for services.
I asked them to test and check it out, send out their comments and now we are going to collate all that data , see where the hiccups are and process that.
James Steyn, Spokesperson at the Department of Local Government
Our goal is within the next 12 -18 months to have this rolled out across the entire province.
