Van Breda Trial: Defence to call witnesses
The State has called up all of its witnesses in the Henri van Breda trial with its last witness, blood spatter analyst Marius Joubert, to conclude his cross examination on Monday.
22-year-old van Breda is accused of murdering his parents and older brother in their home in Stellenbosch in 2015. His sister sustained seriously injuries in the attack.
EWN reporter Monique Mortlock says that the State is trying to show that Van Breda's version of events is incorrect. He claims that an intruder wearing a balaclava is responsible for the attack.
Last week during Joubert's testimony, he said that the blood splatter stains at the scene points to the fact that van Breda's version of events is false.Monique Mortlock, EWN reporter
Mortlock says that Joubert also stated that he can't rule out the possibility of the crime scene being staged.
