The international consultancy was named in the report released by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Friday.

The Nugent Commission of Inquiry has recommended in its report that the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP), Shamila Batohi consider criminal prosecution in the case related to the restructuring contract awarded to international consultancy firm Bain.

The commission found that the awarding of the restructuring contract at the South African Revenue Services (Sars) was manipulated.

Eyewitness News reporter Barry Bateman has more on the story.

It relates to the fact that this is essentially a predetermined restructuring, that discussions were taking place between Bain managing partner Vitcoria Massone and Tom Moyane, before Moyane was even appointed as the commissioner of the SA Revenue Service.

Retired Judge Robert Nugent suggesting this entire process was a fraud and it should be considered by the NDPP for prosecution.
