Here are the amended level 3 water restrictions for Cape Town
The City of Cape Town has made some further changes to the level 3 watering restrictions.
Capetonians can now return to watering their gardens again, but there are some rules that still apply.
Mayco member for Informal Settlements, Water and Waste Services, Xanthea Limberg says residents can use a hosepipe provided it is fitted with a self-closing system.
The self-closing nozzle will help to make the watering process much easier.Xanthea Limberg, Mayco member for informal settlements, water and waste services - City of Cape Town
We also ask that the watering days are adhered to - Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. This should be done before 9 am and after 6 pm.Xanthea Limberg, Mayco member for informal settlements, water and waste services - City of Cape Town
Residents are also requested not to water their gardens within 24 hours after it rains.
The latest dam levels are recorded at 52.2%, however, Limberg says they are hoping to see some adjustment to this recording due to recent rainfall.
The City is pleased that consumption levels remain low at 605 million litre a day.
Here is a summary of the amended restrictions from the City of Cape Town.
